Borscht Recipe


Ingredients:

Beef chunks(with some bone preferably) – 1 pound

1/2 Cabbage – chopped 

2 Large potatoes – chopped

2 Carrots – chopped

2 Large beets – whole

1 small can of crushed tomatoes

1 Small bunch of dill – chopped

Salt, pepper, bay leafs, chopped garlic and sour cream for flavor

Step 1 – Fill a large pot with water, season with salt, pepper, bay leaf and crushed tomatoes

Step 2 – Add beaf and unpeeled whole beets to the pot and boil on medium low for an hour

Step 3 – Take the beets out and let them cool a little

Step 4 – Add cabbage, carrots and potatoes to the pot and continue cooking for another hour

Step 5 – Peel the beets and shred them

Step 6 – After the borscht has been cooking for two hours, add shredded beets and turn the fire off

To serve, ladle borscht into a bowl, garnish with chopped dill, garlic and sour cream. Enjoy!
