The fat free craze

fat freeI thought everyone already knew the truth about fat free products.  But no, I still see people eating fat free or reduced fat yogurts, cheese and so on.  Fat free products don’t do what they claim!  They are not healthier and they won’t make you lose weight.  They are a lot more artificial than you realize.  To make something fat free, these products get heavily processed.   And then other unfavourable ingredients, that you can’t even pronounce, are added to make them taste ok.

The irony here is that people eat these fat free products to lose weight but it’s already been determined that full fat products are best for weight loss since they keep you full longer and therefore you end up consuming less calories overall.  My philosophy on health is that the closer the product is to its natural state, the healthier it is for you.

avocadoNo matter what your goal is, whether it’s to lose weight, gain more muscle, or have more energy, you need to do it in a way that good for your body.  Attaining these goals while becoming unhealthy is not worth it and in the long run can prove to be very damaging.  Total health is feeling great and looking great all at the same time!  So, don’t be fooled by fat free gimmicks and stick to real food.  For example, avocados have quite a bit of fat but they’ve already been proven to be one of the best foods you can consume for your overall health as well as weight loss.  Make sure you control your portions, add lots of variety to your diet, experiment with new recipes, and enjoy what you eat.
