Work!
Work!
Work!
You can do a billion crunches, planks, and sit-ups, and you might have some totally legitimate muscle but the frustrating thing is that it can’t be seen. Why? Most likely it’s because you have too much body fat in your midsection covering up all that hard earned muscle. I’m here to tell you that you can fix that but it will take some concerted effort on your part.
First, let’s workout smarter, not harder. To shed the fat layer, you absolutely need to add cardio workouts to your routine. Doing a billion crunches is not going to get you there. So, try to shoot for three cardio workouts per week.
Next, do many different variations of ab workouts throughout the week. Make sure you include some serious core exercises like planks, side planks, leg raises, reverse crunches, etc. Also, engage your core whenever you do any other unrelated exercises.
And last, but not least, watch your diet very carefully. Simple carbs like breads, pastas, and sugars need to be cut to a bare minimum. Don’t overdo it with fruit either. Try to limit very sugary fruit like grapes, watermelons, oranges. I am not saying don’t eat them. Please do! They are very good for you but just watch your portions. Also, don’t eat these at night. The last thing you want is a sugar bomb right before you go to bed. This will convert into fat super quick.
Be patient, it takes time. It will not happen overnight. But don’t give up if you are serious about achieving this goal. One day you will wake up, look at yourself in the mirror and viola! Hello awesome abs! Good luck!
