Yogurt is good for you, right? Well, that’s to be determined. I see people, who are trying to lose weight, eating one of those yogurts with fruit on the bottom for breakfast. It’s all I can do to stop myself from swatting it from their hands and telling them that they should not be eating this if they want to lose weight!
Did you ever bother looking at the sugar content of this darn thing? You got tricked by that whole yogurt and fruit description that you missed the fact that this “quasi health” food is actually a sugar bomb. The last thing you should be eating is three to four spoons full of sugar in the morning. That is not how you rev up your metabolism.
Notice how almost immediately after you eat this yogurt, you feel hungry again. The reason is because what you’ve just eaten is not going to keep you full due to lack of complex carbs and protein. All that sugar will turn into fat and since you are still hungry you will be consuming even more unnecessary calories.
Now, before I get attacked by yogurt enthusiasts, let me tell you that I love yogurt! Just not the kind that is being advertised as a health food. You might think it’s counter intuitive but full fat plain yogurt is the best kind you should eat. Please eat it every day! Add some real fruit like blueberries or any other berries and some nuts. Now it’s a great snack! It’s healthy and very satisfying. Oh, and it will help you lose weight.
