So you go out to dinner with your family or friends and at the end of the meal someone suggests to have a dessert. The horror! The horror! Desserts are that forbidden food that you can never ever touch because you are trying to stay in shape right?! Not true at all.
Let me give you my philosophy on dessert. First, not all desserts are made equal. Some are just crazy sugar and cream bombs that you should probably limit most of the time. Then that are others that are not so terrible. I personally have a major weakness for chocolate or fruit desserts.
But regardless of what type of dessert it is, you can still enjoy it and stay in shape. Take a few bites, eat slowly, and savor each spoonful. You will feel satisfied instead of deprived. The worst feeling in the world is when you want something but feel that have to deny yourself because you think you shouldn’t have it. I don’t know about you but that only makes me want it more! Don’t deprive yourself from enjoying life’s little treats but instead eat just a little bit of it. That will satisfy the craving and will make you feel like you can have it all. And yes you can! Life is more than just salads. Sometimes you need to enjoy a little dessert even if you are training for a marathon!
